Windwalker is a 3D exploration game, where you glide through a world of flying islands, uncover its secrets and solve small puzzles.

My RoleRole

In Windwaker I took responsibilities for Tech Art. I did a lot of shader work in UE4 and created some VFX for the whole game. The main things I did were the water shader, the Aztec golem, and a lot of Environment Art

AztecAztec GolemGolem

This golem is inspired by the concept art from Deviantart and the robots from the Ghibli movie “Laputa – Castle in the Sky”. Similar to the movie our game takes place in a destroyed Aztec city high up in the sky.

He was sculpted in ZBrush, retopologiesed in Maya, and textured in Substance Painter. I also took the time to rig and animate him. The animations gave him a more humanoid appearance.
